Introducing: Elder Entrikin the Elder
Dec 20, 2020
Hello all you people!
I Am Privileged to be a Service missionary right here in Pocatello! it is less adventure-ey but also less freakout-ey than your standard proselytizing mission.
The reason I introduce myself as Elder Entrikin the Elder is because my brother is also on a mission, Making him Elder Entrikin the younger. the funny thing is, if we were in the same companionship, he would be the senior missionary, and still be the younger brother.
I found this funny, but also accurate as he often acts more mature than I do in many aspects of our lives. I can't really escape my roots of being a child of chaos. (If you knew me as a kid...)
The other service missionaries in the area are all really nice and some of them are big time nerds like me. I'm not sure if we are the exact same kind of big nerds but some comradery was still inspired by them because of it. 🤓
The best people in the mission are Elder and Sister Poulson, my mission leaders. They have an awesome presence and have a high opinion of all their missionaries. I heard it first from them that this service mission is equally needed compared to a service mission. "We are here to plant the seeds of faith, they are here to water them." That is along the lines of what one of them told me.
I totally feel the message behind those words. Mostly because I am used to my dad's skill with growing plants. (None, If you were curious.🙂) He planted plenty, but very few actually grew in his "care".🤒
Fun missionary story, I'm apparently "strange" and "weird" now that I have my Service Missionary tag on. (I got it late, my fault entirely) Take this opinion with a grain of salt however, as only one of my cousins has told this to me. I personally think it is new and exciting, and not strange at all.
Many Christmas wishes,
Elder Entrikin.
